the shortest telephone conversation in the world. ever.

niece #3: why do footballers wear bibs?
me: i know! it's because they dribble.
niece #3: no, it's because they eat too much.
me: oh.

'ey up. nah, that's not going to work. well, i've been a bit quiet because, surprise surprise, i'm having a few headaches due to some tension in my neck. so the doctor gave me a box of 84 (i know) painkillers and two weeks to rest them off. so there you go.

also. i think the 'pain of being in bradford' lines will stay. for me it isn't a dig at bradford, it's a reminder of when i used to have a laugh blogging stuff like the inbox conversations and mad stuff about the family. and let's face it, this blog ain't as lively as it once used to be, innit.

sony bravia gets tango'd

seriously. i'm like, so tired right now. but i saw this on tv just a bit ago and had to blog it. even better than the original, innit.

also. while i'm here. those little lines at the top of the blog. you know, those 'pain of being in bradford' ones? yeah. i forgot they were there too. anyway, brother #1 (i'm sure he won't mind me mentioning him) reckons they need to go, because they sound 'corny and shit'. yeah. i know. did i ever tell you about the time i made a fake blog, the most boring blog you ever saw, so he wouldn't find this one? another story. what do you think? should the lines stay or go? or what?

it's going to be one of those days

can't stop sneezing this morning. so one of the things i looked forward to leaving birmingham was the thought of seeing less concrete, only now with all that green (which after people spent months complaining about when spring was going to arrive, it's like there was this explosion overnight and now everything is like, so green!) about i can't stop sneezing.

so anyway i heard some shouting outside this morning and saw a dustbinman shouting at the driver of the truck, he'd knocked over a wheelie bin. the way the truck was positioned in the middle of the road reminded me of the time i was nearly crushed to death by one of those trucks when i was a kid. have i told you about that?

and then i got a text message this morning but didn't recognise the number, but the message went on about scary biscuits. oo-er. but it's ok. it's alison! this is probably only relevant to the office peeps from birmingham but she's moving.

that is all.

i've decided recently that i'm not actually scared of horror movies these days, i just don't like them. i think i decided this after 'the grudge', which was awful. anyway anyway anyway. a trailer for 'the omen' was playing when i went to watch 'x-men 3' last week, and i decided i wasn't going to watch that. i refuse to watch 'the exorcist' (ok, maybe a little bit scared of that one) and can't be bothered with 'saw'.

but even so, i still jumped out of my seat this morning, when i realised it was 06/06/06 and all that.

i got a wedding invite yesterday, from one of sister #4's friends. she's made them herself. the envelope said bushra, but then the invite inside had the mister's name. well, she's getting off to a good start, innit? like those couples that walk down the road, he a few metres ahead while she follows with her eyes on the ground. oh, don't take any notice of me.

sister #2 also returned with her kids. nephew #3's face was covered in scratches, obviously he spent most of his time catching up with niece #4. nephew #1 has lost another tooth. and i managed to make nephew #2 cry his eyes out, because i told his mother he was back out playing with some girls on the killing ground.

how very dare you!

it were my birthday today. and the plan was to chill out. do nowt. maybe go watch a film. i did, i watched x men 3, i never learn about these destructive action films, do i? a proper headache after. anyway. sister in law A and i had watched parts 1 and 2 the weekend before and were really looking forward to watching this today. the mister was coming along too. and then it happened.

an aunt, who i haven't told you about yet, but she used to live here before i did, and ruled the family with an iron fist, summoned sister in law A to her house on thursday. when A returned on friday she said she wasn't going to come watch the film. why? 'noooo bush-reh! it should just be yoo two!'

oh. my. god. the ruling aunt had told her not to go, because it should just be me and the mister. me and the mister only. me and the mister spending time to-ge-ther. could it get more embarassing than that? someone telling you how to spend your time? how your married life should be? in front of ev-e-ry-bo-dy?

so i lost it. and i was going to have a quiet day.
